Requirement

The service allows tipsters to create free or paid profiles and share their predictions with sports fans placing their bets on athletic events.

We were required to develop a platform with two different tipster account plans: free and paid. Using the free one, the tipsters could only submit their tips via API, while the paid account allows them to put out the information manually. For betters, we had to develop functionality that let them pay for tipsters’ predictions. Information about new tips published had to be sent in a form of notifications to betters’ Android or iOS devices (or, in specific cases — via email).

Challenge

We had to arrange a system in a way that would let all the betters receive notifications on new tips simultaneously. Since the odds correlate directly with bet flows, the sooner a better receives a tip, the higher his chances to place the desired bet. Another crucial aspect of an effective betting platform is real-time statistics and automatic updates of all the necessary information. And lastly, since betting is closely connected to user payment information, we had to protect mobile devices from security breaches and connections from other devices using the same credentials..

Solution

Our team is responsible for the UI/UX design, development, and testing of the solution’s website as well as native iOS and Android applications. We used the Laravel PHP framework for the website and REST API for integration with the most common sports betting APIs (in this case, LSPORT).

The service’s database is used for the website and applications, which query the database on the front-end (website, apps) and the back-end (admin panel). The website’s admin panel has a built-in chat service, a dashboard of matches with a gambling corner, as well as an intuitive interface allowing tipsters to submit their tips.

The option to receive email links with tips was implemented with Google CAPTCHA ― a function that was only available upon request within the admin panel.

Finally, A PUSH notification service (FireBase) was integrated and thoroughly tested to ensure that all betters are able to receive real-time notifications as soon as their preferred tipsters submit their tips.
